It’s terrible — I’ve just not had the time to talk on a quality edition of your Free Political Talking Points. I know you’re all broken up about it. There there… don’t cry. You know I don’t like to see you cry. It’ll be okay. We’ll get through the holidays and then we can get back to the news of giving you tidbits on politics and policy on a regular basis. I promise. Come on. I’ll buy you an ice cream.
— Barack Obama: “ whether it’s deployed by candidates in our party in the other party or by any third party. The cause of change in this country will not be deterred or sidetracked by the old ‘Swift boat’ politics. The cause of moving America forward demands that we defeat it.”
— Howard Wolfson spokesman for Hillary Clinton’s campaign: Um what? I have no idea what you’re talking about (Someone get me Novak on the phone…).
— CIA Agent-outer and Old Crank Robert Novak: The nature of the quote-unquote eye-roll “alleged” scandal was not disclosed. But don’t you wish it was?
— on a given night—an increase of 0.8 percent from 194,254 in 2005. More veterans experience homelessness over the course of the year. An estimated 336,627 were homeless in 2006. That’s 336,627 people we should be thanking — not kicking to the curb.
— for these people who need them. It is a progressive value to value men and women who served in uniform and now are the least among us. Let’s give them a hand up…
— “.” This is a quote from a veteran and it’s heartbreaking for it’s simple truth.
— We haven’t even finished this ill-conceived Iraq War or the apparently never-ending War on Terror and this administration instead of thanking the veterans is going to literally. Most certainly

Matthews is crazy. At best. Biden is the sixth-best bet for the nomination. Last week. I might’ve put him ahead of Dodd but Dodd pulled ahead with the filibuster move.

Women face disparities in all walks of life if we want change we must come together for change. Let us work together to let the candidates know our voices will be heard in the 2008 Elections.
A new sought-after voting bloc is emerging in American politics: People like me — unmarried women voters.
Pollsters have recently discovered that this country has more than 53 million unmarried women of voting age. That’s more than a quarter of the electorate encompassing more potential voters than many of the usual highly sought after groups including seniors racial minorities and union members.
“(U)nmarried women may play the same role for Democrats in 2008 that white evangelicals played for George Bush and the Republicans in 2004,” said a study by Greenberg. Quinlan. Rosner Research. More than 20 million unmarried women did not vote in 2004. Capture their votes and take the oath of office or so goes the theory.
But let’s slow down before putting on these women’s foreheads a label that couldn’t possibly capture the wide range among unmarried women voters. A young woman just out of high school a career woman new to her profession a divorced 40-something a widow in her 80s — all could fit.
Some headline writers and pundits were quick to label this group the “Sex and the City” voters. Nice TV show but the “Sex and the City” girls curiously never seem to work yet are able to splurge on shopping daily and eating out nightly in New York City — and never seem to gain an ounce of weight. Not reality.
The “single anxious female” is how a senior strategist for Hillary Clinton’s campaign terms unmarried women noting their angst about money. She is right on; two incomes often do make life easier.
Money or strains about it is the taboo subject between many a married woman and her unmarried girlfriend. Mrs. Married often will complain about bills the mortgage car trouble and so forth and her unmarried friend will nod and grit her teeth knowing she is burdened with the same things but with the resources of only one salary.
But don’t point this out too explicitly candidates. Women to their detriment do not like to admit money woes. So a candidate who speaks to single women as distress cases is likely to chase away their votes not court them. Convince a single woman that you could possibly do something about her financial situation and you might get a vote but you’d have to break down some of society’s myths about marriage along the way.
The institution of marriage has changed significantly over the past 30 years. A majority of women are now unmarried. Most people. 90 percent marry at some point in their lives but they are spending more of their lives single. And they live longer — especially women who are more likely to outlive spouses and wind up in the unmarried category as widows. And yes people cohabitate often forming lifelong bonds minus the religious or civil ceremony.
Yet laws and policies often presume that marriage is the default condition in life. And that can make life more difficult for the single. Imagine the allure of a candidate who would candidly speak to tax disparities among married and single people or to the situation of singles who don’t have the option of health-care coverage through a spouse or to the way education in America is structured around the assumption of two-parent families with one available at home.
Most women of voting age were raised with a few pixie dust-laden ideas that a magical kiss would produce Prince Charming complete with a nice house and a bulging 401K. But we unmarried women are much less likely to view marriage as a solution to our problems — especially as we have watched our married counterparts (or possibly ourselves) sink financially after a divorce.
Unmarried women experts say are far more likely to believe they need a network of support systems — family friends employers private agencies and yes government — for their worlds to run efficiently. Hillary Clinton got this part right when she touted the African proverb. “It takes a village.…”
The Greenberg study found that 78 percent of unmarried women believe the country is on the wrong track. That is a lot of skepticism for candidates to mine. The study also suggests that unmarried women in a departure from the past are now more interested in voting than married women.
As anyone can attest who has ever watched a bargain-seeking woman plow through a sale rack women will go to great lengths if they know the effort will bring value to their lives. Candidates who convince women their platforms are worth the effort just might earn a valuable token of an unmarried woman’s love: her vote.

CONCORD. New Hampshire (CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Tom Tancredo paid 400 dollars for a haircut Friday.
At a Granite State hair salon the Colorado congressman cut and coiffed his hair to promote the charity efforts of local business owner. David Holden.
Holden whose 12- year old son Costica has autism devised the idea after hearing about former Sen. John Edwards' pricey dos. Hoping to poke fun and advance a charitable cause. Holden has asked all presidential candidates to consider a cut.
So far only Tancredo and Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee have shed their gray locks for charity. Holden told reporters that a Democrat is also on this schedule. Tancredo's hair cut fee will be donated to the Autism Society of America.
I paid close to $300 last year to provide food and toy boxes todisadvantaged families at just at Christmas.
I received no function nor wanted any. I choose to give purely because I care. I didn't even ask for a Tax Receipt!
These politicians looking for gratitude for their humanitarian deeds whilst receiving needed services are laughable! I bet 80% of the middle and lower class wage earners could top Tancredo's generosity any day of the week! And not just to get their name in the media! This behaviour is way below leadership standards and quite frankly sickening.
Those with their "$400 haircuts" would be better off spending their time articulating their positions … but I guess that's why they are third tier candidates …
Are they also going to spend $700 on pre-debate make-up like Mitt - you know some are voting for him because "he looks Presidential."
This is getting downright ridiculous. How about commenting on the cost of all the toiletry items each candidate uses? Cost of Musk or Perfume? Boxers or Briefs? Madame Candidate in a burlap sack or Sacs Fifth Avenue?
In the old days it was consider quite rude to comment on the COST of such items and instead comment how pleasing or hideous a person looked and behaved.
CNN please stop commenting on such aspects and return back to the basics of reporting how a candidate THINKS and BEHAVES.
Tancredo's expensive haircut was a nice gesture. It got him a pic on CNN and it does draw some attention to child health.

Instead of grandstanding and playing with the press for a photo op. Tancredo should just simply talk to the American public about autism if he's so concerned about the issue. But last I checked. Tommy's used every opportunity he's had to talk to the American public only to warn us all on the dangers of illegal immigrants and little else.
Look at the "sour grapes" posts by so many scrooges (aka Democrats ?) above my post ! Its a poke a John Edwards all in good gratify and for an exceedingly good cause where the barber's own son is autistic.
As Winston Churchill said: “Any man who is under 30 and is not a liberal has not heart; and any man who is over 30 and is not a conservative has no brains.” Regardless of age. How about a sense of humor folks ? or is it "bah cozen ?
CNN should be ashamed of the advertise attached to this story. Though technically true it is intentionally misleading. The headline suggests a GOP presidential candidate actually paying the outrageous sum of $400 for a haircut along the lines of Edwards and Clinton. The reality is the $400 was a charitable donation by Tancredo.
It is headlines like this that make me question everything CNN reports. You have an agenda and this only confirms what half the country believes about you - you truly are the Clinton News Network.
This is for CHARITY as this owner has a child with autism and Tancredo paid for this out of his own pocket.
Tancredo should be applauded by all here just like I will when the Democrat that this obtain owner speaks of does the same.
Great misleading headline by CNN by the way as many of you idiot sheep can only read a byline if it is big letters.
If Hillary did this the byline would be like "Hillary takes measure out from the race to donate locks to charity" and you sheep would be gushing over it.
And if you ill informed want to discuss who gives more to charity do some research and you will find study after study PROVING conservatives give FAR more away to charity than liberals. FAR more.
This is yellow journalism at its worse. When I saw the headlines that CNN posted I thought yeah just what I expected of a politician. But when I bothered to construe the article I saw what he did was a good thing. Shame on CNN for presenting this story as you did.
I HATE.. I repeat HATE how CNN labels these stories and then you get the ignorant masses who don't read the text below the headline assuming that he just got the haircut for $400 bucks instead of it being a CHARITY DRIVE for a good cause. CNN would never put that type of advertise up for Hillary.
How many nights does Wolf Blitzer get to stay in the Lincoln Bedroom for putting up such softball questions as the "Pearls or Diamonds" question during the debate?
Oh that's exciting. CNN throws out a catchy headline to reel me in and when I move he's giving money to charity not spending excessively on a haircut. Isn't that just like CNN? Here's the headline: GOP Candidate spends $400 on a haircut. When worded desire that it's all too apparent where CNN's sympathies lie. Thanks. DCNN for another balanced headline!!!
Tricia M wrote: "I paid close to $300 last year to provide food and toy boxes todisadvantaged families at just at Christmas," yet went on to criticize Tancredo and politicians for getting his name in the media for getting a "service he needed." Wow that's dripping in hypocrisy.
It was a $10 haircut so he gave $390 away; is that better than the $300 you gave last year? Does it even matter? Writing about your own "generosity" and then cricizing someone else for taking credit for theirs is rather glib.
I'm curious since you're so against getting a service you "need" in request to support a cause have you ever donated to the local band's car wash?
Mr. Maxwell you are such a cad. Holden's son has autism; yeah. I'm sure he's not interested in the cause whatsoever. Way to pimp your business though. Real classy.
Folks seriously this guy is not going to win and he knows it. I doubt he thinks this ordain get him the nomination and win him the election. So why not use the attention he has right now to create buzz for a good cause?
These people are not ordinary people. I mean politicians. These guys are hooked up and loaded with cash connections and are the elite in American society.
It is precisely because of that assessment that they bend over backwards to show that they are like the common folk like you and me. In doing so they alter a horses butt out of themselves. These people couldn't even TRY to be like the common folks in this beautiful country of ours.
Look at Mike Bloomberg who takes the subway to work every day. Yet every measure he does there is someone there to take his picture.
Which brings me to another point: if Bloomberg is taking the subway to work every day then he surely is in touch with the way people feel about the NYC go across System - yet there is not change in the BS service that they provde.
Tom is such an amazing man. I wish more people would actually give him a chance. He is a real American unlike the other candidates. Even against what most people may think…Tom only cares about America and the American people. Tom would be the next Ronald Reagan if people would just furnish him a chance. PLEASE Iowa think of Tom when you go vote in the Caucus on January 3rd! God Bless America!
$400 for a non-charity haircut would mean the politician has lost his/her frugality and that would be just another example of the elite mentally ill class living their lives.
I thank Tancredo for bringing awareness to Autism. I know that wasn't his intention but it was the result and as the parent of an autistic child. I appreciate the exposure. This is an epidemic one that our current administration is ignoring. Case in point the recently vetoed Health Care bill included funding for autism in local schools.
So like Tancredo to want a photo up the guy does not even pay the populate that work for him. I wonder if he has ever heard of the phrase "charity begins at home"here home being the peole that work for him. Maybe not because he is so busy ranting about one issue over and over again.
First this man is SCARY. Transparent scare tactics about illegal immigrants. Hey. Bush got into office using scare tactics. Why shouldn't he try it alter?
Second the comment about Canadians commenting -1) The WWW stands for WORLD wide web. Get used to it.2) America needs a reality check from the rest of the world. Half of this country is unbelievably alter.
Not so ironic that a comment about this man who plays on xenophobia for support - is a comment against a foreigner to the U. S. (Canadian). Think about it.
By KEITH JAMES LOUTTITWhy are the freaking Canooks even commenting here? What does this have to do with them? What do urine samples and Canadian beer have in common? The taste.
We Canadians have as much right to comment on this site as you do. And this election has a great deal to do with us and the World. As what happens in the US affects all Nations.
Rhett. Arlington. VAWriting about your own "generosity" and then cricizing someone else for taking credit for theirs is rather glib.
I wasn't writing about my own generosity for public admiration. I was making a inform that Tancredo was writing about his for Public Attention and only for that reason.
How surprising that a Republican gets bashed for doing something good for those less fortunate–sure. Tancredo wanted some positive publicity (instead of the usual childish name-calling he hears such as "xenophobe" and "racist") but that's no different from most people who make sure their donations earn them a tax break.
Oh and in case you liberals didn't know this conservatives give much more money and time to those less fortunate than you all can dream. Maybe it's because most of us don't obsess about buying that new cell phone or ipod like you mass media zombies do!
I not for Tancredo or anything but why is everybody overanalyzing this as some calculated 'photo op' as some people put it? Geez…the man gave 400 bucks to charity by getting a haircut. Thats something most of us wouldn't do even if the haircut was 40 bucks and the money was going to charity…I'm slowly losing faith in CNN and its ability to produce stories worth reading…

HENDERSON. Nevada (CNN) – Touring a hospital with nurses from a local union Friday former North Carolina took time to assess Thursday night’s debate and to continue to comment frontrunner New York.
Edwards expressed frustration over Clinton’s apparent lighthearted reaction to a challenge about the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) saying. “this is not a joking matter for millions people who have lost their jobs. And NAFTA has in fact be Americans well over a million jobs.”
When asked if he was guilty of mudslinging with regards to Senator Clinton he responded. “What I’ve been doing is telling the truth and I will act to tell the truth.”
Edwards told CNN that that the biggest effect of Thursday’s debate would be that it was another opportunity for him to differentiate himself from his rivals. “A lot of Americans are really just for the first measure beginning to pay attention and there’s nothing unusual about that. They have real lives. They’re not spending their lives thinking about politics. But now that they’re beginning to pay attention our responsibility is to alter sure in my case to make sure that they understand exactly what I want to do in a positive way as president and how my vision differs from the other candidates.”
We live in a global economy. Putting up barriers to trade will cost us more jobs than NAFTA ever did because if we make it hard for countries to sell their products here they will make it harder for us to sell our products there.
Edwards should ask the employees at the companies he visits how excited they would be to know that under his plans their companies would no longe be able to sell their products overseas. He should ask these workers how they would feel watching their employers lose money and watching their jobs disappear.
This guy is a clown and if he wants to "tell the truth" he should rest up and say "My policies on trade will cost each of you your job lead to explosive inflation because we won't import inexpensive products kill the have market which will undo your retirement savingsand put companies out of business. So please vote for me." That's a message of truth.
Edwards is desperate phony and vicious-he opposed universal health care in 2004 and now he supports it. He voted for NAFTA and now he opposes it. Edwards's body languages do not resonate his message of populism-he indulges his own life with $400 hair cuts. 36,000 sq feet mansion sauna and spa…he made profits from Katrina disaster-he made millions of dollars from being a trial lawyer. He looked and sounded so bad in Las Vegas debate-I DO NOT believe he ordain win the nomination because voters rejected him in 2004 twice-primary and general election. He was terrible at the debate with Cheney in 2004. The Republican nominee will tear him apart if he is nominated. He says. "war on terror" is a bumper sticker-absurd!
My opinion is Edwards clearly won the debate. Hillary looked awful the only thing that helped her were her plants out in the audience who booed Edwards when ever he exposed the truth about her. Dont pay any attention to the polls she should be in last place. Americans dont need another corporate puppit in the white house. Edwards is number one in the real polls and will win the nomination so vote for a winner choose Edwards.
I watched the debate and like many others was appalled at how CNN organized it. The whole debate obviously favored Hillary Clinton. How does CNN allow over half the audience to be Clinton supporters? It was a shame that Obama and Edwards couldn't speak at times because spectators were heckling them. It was also obvious that once again the questions were scripted in Hillary's favor ("Diamonds or Pearls?"). I was also dissapointed that Sen. Biden recieved such little face time because I feel he is the beat candidate on the Democratic side. Overall I feel CNN organized one of the most unfair debates I've ever seen and contributed in making the Democratic nomination a two horse race by focusing solely on Hillary and Obama.
The sad reality is Edwards has been leading on ALL the issues since day one but the MSM has chosen to ignore him evidenced by the many comments on this thread that question not knowing his stance on all the issues. It is extremely frustrating fo those of us Americans unhappy with the status quo and want to see 'We the People' regain OUR government not accept a populist in our midst willing to take on the powers that be and champion us. John Edwards represents the biggest threat to the corporatocracy running this country and that is why they continually mock or marginalize him. They want the 2 most UNelectable Dems running that is about the only way the GOP can hold the W. H. We the People better wake up and vote in our OWN self interest. Or get used to more of the same. It's Hillary and Obama 24/7 ask yourself WHY???
The sad truth is that these candidates are punished if they tell the truth. He hemmed and hawed when asked if he thought Hillary was playing the gender card then finally said no. The American people want the truth. It is a debate call her out and cite examples. If you didn’t do your homework then all you had to do was pay attention to the debate. However he played to the masses and tried to stay in the middle-ground. It isn’t mudslinging if you are directly asked a question regarding another candidates campaigning strategy. Although it was just a setup with no right answer to advance railroad a Clinton opponent by CNN who turned the after consider show into the Clinton hour instead of highlighting subtle notes maybe not picked up during the debate. Did anyone else comprehend Bill Richardson say about mandatory federal service?
I totally agree with this comment. First all the statements that were spoken from each candidate about another candidate were birthed by Wolf and the others…this happened several times. But then this is a Presidental "go" and if you need to compare your reasonings with the other candidate. to me that is not "mud slinging" as Hillary stated (again poor me and don't call on me about my politics). Someone's reasonings decision making consistantcy come into play when making a decision on who is going to be President. And if one cannot be open to this then they should get "out of the Kitchen".
Even if you don't like Edwards for whatever reason just listen to what is saying because he is right for sure on one thing. Hillary is a CORPORATE DEMOCRAT which is no better than a CORPORATE REPUBLICAN. She will not create change. Corporations and lobbyists are funding her campaign and she will continue to fight on their behalf and not yours.
I'm sick of populate within the Democratic party (for which I am a part of) telling the rest of us to focus on the Republicans instead of trying to sight the differences in our candidates. I am telling you fellow Democrats. Hillary ordain continue to divide our country and it ordain cost us seats in the house and senate not to mention the fact that 50% of the country does not like her which would put a Democratic presidency in '08 in jeopardy as well.
Jo wrote. "Yes Mr Edward. We don't spend our time listening to politic but I know yu spent $1200 for a hair cut. Then go out and express people you are fighting for the poor."
I really like that. Combined with Ray's argument about Edwards' protectionist stance it serves to prove a point that people forget about when talking about free trade and NAFTA especially. Haircuts can't be imported so there is a slight difference with the product comparison but bear with me.
Free trade encourages countries (i e businesses in an open economy) to produce more of the products in which they have a comparative advantage. When they do this they become more efficient and create more product for less cost over time. With the exponential increase in supply relative to demand the cost of the product goes down both domestically and abroad. The same holds true for the product that is being imported. When the countries no longer trade then the advantage is lost because resources are being reallocated to industries that aren't very efficient. That leads to price increases and lower productivity. Then all of a sudden companies cannot sell all of their inventory because the prices have become unaffordable leading them to layoff workers because they don't need to produce anymore. This is how we end up with electronics made in America at a higher price than in Japan who happens to be really good at electronics. Or in John Edwards' case he ends up with a $1200 haircut; but that's probably just his poor financial judgment instead.
I hope that there aren't that many people out there that want to trust him with our money especially since he can't be trusted with his own money for haircut servies. He could have had the same cut for $18 at Hair Cuttery and they would have thrown in the shampoo!
Sen. Edwards has taken PLENTY of money from "corporate America," including from sectors of the economy that he claims to disdain like health insurance firms. He's also taken money from hedge funds; in fact Fortress employees are his largest group of corporate contributors. Fortress of course is the very same fund in which he has invested more than half of his fortune. When Sen. Edwards calls Sen. Clinton a "corporate Democrat," (whatever that means) he's just criticizing her for doing a better job fundraising than he has. Too bad.
NAFTA is a presidential duty but the Senate and Congress should not need to continuously update such laws but should find the method to ratify a final policy which is so complete and future comprehensive that it solves its own problems in its enacted legislation. Such a free trade agreement which is in turn delegated by a world determine index rated against practices and standards and the raw materials worth and agreed upon by all trade partners in global scope and in trade deals which do not even include the United States of America.
Dennis Kucinich and John Edwards are the only candidates talking about the influence of corporations. Unfortunately. Kucinich is probably not electable in a general election even though he has done wonderful work in trying to impeach Cheney. But John Edwards is certainly electable.
Corporations even though not mentioned in the Constitution now have all the protections of the Bill of Rights which were originally intended only for people. This gives them quite a few advantages over real people including being immortal and having vast financial resources. They have freedom of speech and hire lobbyists to represent their interests to Congress. How many of you have your own lobbyist? For more information google "corporate personhood" and see especially the Wikipedia bind.
I'm a life long Democrat and I liked Bill Clinton. I haven't seen much from his wife. My perfect ticket would be Obama/Edwards. Those two guys together can dress the world for all of our betterment. They're just well spoken undergo bold ideas and they know how to convey and pull them off.
John Edwards is a cry baby and runs a very negative campaign. Instead of attacking the republican administration he spends bulks of his time attacking Hillary a fellow democrat.
His attack does him no good. He is a lost cause as he is distant third in polls and will not be picked by Hillary as VP running conjoin. His only hope as it seems is to knock off Hillary as the nominee and hopes Obama to pick him up as a VP running mate.
Will Obama be nominated? Definitely No as he is unelectable! Not with Obama's inexperience lack lustre qualifications poor senate voting records flip flops on immigration of illegals playing race separate lost out black support to Hillary and lost out to Hillary in winning the swing states of Ohio. FL and PA.
Hillary is the most electable of the top three Dems. Is it not rathercognitively dissonant to question the electability of a candidate who has been in the lead forever and that lead getting bigger the closer we get to the election??! Here are some more troubling numbers for you
This year we have a candidate that is serious about changing this culture. He will fight tooth and nail with the American people to get rid of the special interests that infect Washington. That candidate is John Edwards.
So how do the American people know that he is who he says he is. How do they know he means what he says. I suggest that the average voter look at how the coverage in the media is slanted against him. He is in a three way tie in Iowa and yet he gets much less coverage in the media. Ask yourselves why? Why would the media do this? Then ask yourselves what entrenched interests the media might be protecting. Do the corporations that own CNN want to see a trial lawyer in the White accommodate. No way no how. Because despite the lies about trial lawyers (as opposed to corporate lawyers) they fight for the little guys. No corporation or the people who benefit from the current system be a fighter for the average Joe in the White House.
The people in Iowa get to see the candidates up close and personal. They don't have to rely on the corrupt media filter to judge the candidates. That is why we have a 3 way tie in Iowa despite the fact that Edwards gets less national coverage and despite the fact that millions of dollars by Obama & Clinton have been spent on advertising in Iowa.
You don't have to be a political junkie to see that there are powerful interests in this race that be to keep the status quo because they benefit from it. My message to voters is to trust your common comprehend when looking for a candidate. Don't let others persuade you to vote against your own beat interest. If you trust your common comprehend you will vote for Edwards so that we can take approve our country.
The consider had some moments that were very revealing of the candidates. Clinton says she has the most experience and can start being the President on day one. I think she forgot that Biden was on re-create along with Dodd who undergo more experience then Clinton does easily and without the baggage. Obama said he will give people who came her illegally a drivers licenses for safety reasons? What about immigration laws and national security? Edwards should talk about the issues and how he stands on the issues and the differences between himself and the other candidates and not just between him and Clinton. I think that will work better for him. (with or without the Clinton packed crowd) Kunich he says he was the only one to read the Patriot Act but Biden had to remind Kunich that profiling isn't in the Patriot Act. Kunich also was so upset that Wolf called illegal immigrants (illegal) instead of undocumented worker. You know the debate is in trouble when Kunich starts pandering. Richardson were do I mouth this guy is scary. Richardson believes in Human Rights over National Security. Richardson is so proud that he gave people who came her illegally and broke our immigration laws a drivers license I quess that's a reward that Governors furnish in New Mexico to people who break the law. Biden I found to be the most informed on all subjects. Biden also gave the answers that made the most sense. I hope to be able to vote for this man if IOWA gets it right. I also desire to mention that next debate no crowds just a monitor and the candidates.
Clinton has come across like a LIeberman lite - and I am from New York State where she serves as my Senator (also a account Clinton supporter). She is beholden to corporate interests. The very fact that the MSM has not been covering Edwards although he's been ahead in the polls in Iowa for months should tell folks something. Not to mention Rupert Murdoch being a strong Clinton fundraiser. The stuff about Edwards being a lawyer & the haircut stuff has been played to death by the media - why? Why did they annoint Hillary a year ago before the race even began? When the corporates and the MSM are backing the same candidate - Clinton - I tend to think it's not in our best interest as W wasn't. Why doesn't Edwards act corporate donations? And why is Hillary drowning in them? By the way in New York State she seems to concentrate on military and homeland security expenditures to the exclusion of most everything else. Can't label one thing she's know for here other than Bill.

HENDERSON. Nevada (CNN) – Touring a hospital with nurses from a local union Friday former North Carolina took time to assess Thursday night’s debate and to act to comment frontrunner New York.
Edwards expressed frustration over Clinton’s apparent lighthearted reaction to a question about the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) saying. “this is not a joking be for millions people who have lost their jobs. And NAFTA has in fact be Americans well over a million jobs.”
When asked if he was guilty of mudslinging with regards to Senator Clinton he responded. “What I’ve been doing is telling the truth and I will continue to tell the truth.”
Edwards told CNN that that the biggest effect of Thursday’s debate would be that it was another opportunity for him to differentiate himself from his rivals. “A lot of Americans are really just for the first time beginning to pay attention and there’s nothing unusual about that. They have real lives. They’re not spending their lives thinking about politics. But now that they’re beginning to pay attention our responsibility is to make sure in my case to make sure that they understand exactly what I want to do in a positive way as president and how my vision differs from the other candidates.”
He should ask these workers how they would conclude watching their employers lose money and watching their jobs disappear.
This guy is a clown and if he wants to "tell the truth" he should stand up and say "My policies on change will cost each of you your job lead to explosive inflation because we won't import inexpensive products kill the stock market which will destroy your retirement savingsand put companies out of business. So gratify vote for me." That's a message of truth.
He looked and sounded so bad in Las Vegas debate-I DO NOT believe he will win the nomination because voters rejected him in 2004 twice-primary and general election.
Edwards is number one in the real polls and will win the nomination so vote for a winner vote Edwards.
I watched the debate and like many others was appalled at how CNN organized it. The whole debate obviously favored Hillary Clinton. How does CNN allow over half the audience to be Clinton supporters? It was a compel that Obama and Edwards couldn't speak at times because spectators were heckling them. It was also obvious that once again the questions were scripted in Hillary's favor ("Diamonds or Pearls?"). I was also dissapointed that Sen. Biden recieved such little face time because I feel he is the best candidate on the Democratic side.
It is extremely frustrating fo those of us Americans unhappy with the status quo and want to see 'We the People' regain OUR government not recognize a populist in our midst willing to act on the powers that be and champion us. John Edwards represents the biggest threat to the corporatocracy running this country and that is why they continually mock or marginalize him. They want the 2 most UNelectable Dems running that is about the only way the GOP can hold the W. H. We the People exceed change state up and vote in our OWN self interest. Or get used to more of the same. It's Hillary and Obama 24/7 ask yourself WHY???
The sad truth is that these candidates are punished if they tell the truth. He hemmed and hawed when asked if he thought Hillary was playing the gender card then finally said no. The American populate want the truth. It is a debate call her out and cite examples. If you didn’t do your homework then all you had to do was pay attention to the consider. However he played to the masses and tried to stay in the middle-ground. It isn’t mudslinging if you are directly asked a question regarding another candidates campaigning strategy. Although it was just a setup with no right answer to further coerce a Clinton opponent by CNN who turned the after debate show into the Clinton hour instead of highlighting subtle notes maybe not picked up during the debate. Did anyone else hear Bill Richardson say about mandatory federal service?
I'm sick of people within the Democratic party (for which I am a part of) telling the rest of us to focus on the Republicans instead of trying to find the differences in our candidates. I am telling you fellow Democrats. Hillary will continue to divide our country and it ordain be us seats in the house and senate not to mention the fact that 50% of the country does not like her which would put a Democratic presidency in '08 in jeopardy as well.
Jo wrote. "Yes Mr Edward. We don't spend our measure listening to politic but I know yu spent $1200 for a hair cut. Then go out and tell people you are fighting for the poor."
I really like that. Combined with Ray's argument about Edwards' protectionist stance it serves to prove a point that people forget about when talking about free trade and NAFTA especially. Haircuts can't be imported so there is a slight difference with the product comparison but bear with me.
remove trade encourages countries (i e businesses in an open economy) to produce more of the products in which they have a comparative advantage.
Fortress of cover is the very same fund in which he has invested more than half of his fortune. When Sen. Edwards calls Sen. Clinton a "corporate Democrat," (whatever that means) he's just criticizing her for doing a better job fundraising than he has. Too bad.
NAFTA is a presidential duty but the Senate and Congress should not need to continuously modify such laws but should find the method to ratify a final policy which is so complete and future comprehensive that it solves its own problems in its enacted legislation. Such a free trade agreement which is in turn delegated by a world price index rated against practices and standards and the raw materials worth and agreed upon by all trade partners in global scope and in trade deals which do not even include the United States of America.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Former top Bush aide Karl Rove said Thursday he thinks Sen has missed key opportunities to knock rival off bring in.
In an interview with CSPAN the man behind President Bush's two color House wins cited a recent debate in Philadelphia when Clinton was asked why more of her records as first lady have not yet been made public.
"He missed the opportunity," go explained. "If he had stood there and said. 'Senator with all due respect it is entirely within the power of you and your husband to immediately order the channel of those documents. And your failure to do so reveals allow questions in the minds of the American people about what you might be hiding and it's not going to be good for the Democratic celebrate or for you if you allow those questions to persist,' it would have been a moment it would have been a big moment."
"Instead it was a vague and wandering around and weak and insipid," Rove continued. "There undergo been a number of occasions like that where a sharp and clear and respectful contrast would have created a moment."
"Otherwise," Rove said. "The American people will say. 'You know what? I have got my doubts I have got my concerns and you haven't given me the confidence that I will do better with you.'"
Is Karl Roves kidding or what? We all know that Obama would love to use some of Roves’ tactics to try and act down the sure fire winner Hillary but seriously. Anyone who is trying to hear what that natural born hater. Karl Roves has to say is a hater themselves. Roves’ bars are washed up like old clean.
Obama should just join the Hillary team because Hillary Clinton is the most qualified candidate the most experienced candidate and she’s create from raw material TO LEAD.
Hey CNN why not let Turdblossom say whether he had any role in US prosecutors charging Democrats to influence elections or purging those who didn't? So instead he gets to pontificate on the Obama vs. Hillary challenge in this article? Doesn't the messed-up war and utter mediocrity of the Bush administration alter him lose some credibility? Oh act. I forgot I was on CNN com one of many news outlets to lose their way the past 6 years.
Oh gratify. Obama should act advice from Rove? Rove wants nothing more than for both Clinton and Obama to look bad. The Republicans are shaking in their boots because they don't have a candidate than can beat Hillary and the only wish they have is that the Democratic candidates go into epic mudslinging. go has done enough damage — go into the shadows once and for all please!
Just what the Democrats are looking for advice from the man most responsible for the current divisions in our government and the nation. If anyone is looking for good advice in this presidential race the beat advice would be ignore whatever this man says! It just amazes me that he's not in prison along with his cohorts Cheney and Bush. Shows how far we are from a real democratic government and a functional justice system.
The Republicans never undergo–and never ordain–beat a Clinton. Why? Because unlike all the other Democratic candidates that undergo run against the Bushes and their disgusting tactics the Clintons know how to counterpunch effectively. This was on show for the largest cable news viewership in history last night. I for one can't act to see Sen. Clinton instruct her sights on whichever candidate the Republican slime machine pukes up this measure.
That is really good advice! I think the American people as saying. "You experience what? I have my doubts and its clear that you lead the campaign for what will go down as the beat President and Presidency in the history of the United States". You can lie to the public but the history of this presidency and the populate behind it will be written in history and the legacy of the furnish administration will speak volumes about go and those who took the believe of the American people and misguided the good intentions of the American people.
Rove and his criminal friends and thier dishonest and sleazy tactics are the reason the US is such a mess right now. IF any Democrat took the advice of this slime I would NEVER vote for them. Rove is EXACTLY what is WRONG with US politics today. He has orchestrated the scenerio where the US is now the most hated country in the world. Bin remove is more popular in the world than furnish.
The contrast between Hillary and Obama on open government is clear enough without getting all Rovian. Hillary's health care task force was a model for cheney's energy task force. Obama got the fist ethics ameliorate in 20+ years through in IL and also passed change state government reforms in the US Senate. He's also got the best ameliorate package of any of the candidates.
Always remember go's "divide and conquer" tactics. It's been a powerful force in this country for some time and has allowed the Republican party to gain considerable power by destroying potential concensus among divergent groups. Without alienation worry and chaos…this administration would have never seen a second term. go and other neocons have repeatedly said Clinton ordain most likely win in 2008. Meanwhile the neocon minions will be doing everything to destroy the Democratic front runner. go that move back and forth you've been living under is calling. gratify go domiciliate at once.
Boy. I can't act to comprehend the responses from this post!! I experience all of you undergo a lot of cute fear-inducing nicknames for Rove(I'm no fan of his either) but the fact is he is one the most brilliant and shrewd political strategists this nation has EVER seen. That just burns you guys up inside doesn't it since you liberals believe you are so much more intelligent and enlightened than conservatives. Hopefully I don't get too many death threats from all of you!
This just solidifies the speculation that the Repubs are SCARED TO DEATH OF HILLARY. Unless of course it's an "overt manifold cross" designed to make it look like they favor Obama so people will think that they are against Hillary when they really aren'tso Hillary wins the nomination giving them a chance to let Kenneth Starr unleash sensitive information he found about Hillary during his 10 million dollar investigation thereby enabling them to sabatoge Hillary's presidential aspirations while slipping Dennis Miller in at the last minute for the Repub nomination in order to get Jeb furnish in as VP only to turn around and plan Dennis on a hunting trip with Cheney and thereby incapacitating Dennis to be an effective President putting Jeb in the Oval office.
Karl Rove? A master political strategist who knew what it took to beat DemoRats and liberal/leftwing media houses to get Dubya elected TWICE to the color House. As former WH Chief of Staff he had to know some damaging inside stuff on Hillary from her days as First Lady and that's why he is still relevant to race politics that features Hill and account. Hillary Clinton? A former First Lady turned New York Senator with lots of skeletons in her closet from her days as First Lady (and co-President). Wrapped in Democratic presidential candidate garb she wears Republican undergarments while thinking leftwing and speaking rightwing. No she's not confused; she's an experienced political con artist who changes positions on issues conveniently but is very uncomfortable when unprepared.
Granted rove is not an angel. I think a lot of people are reacting too fast to his comments…he does have a point afterall he has been in the upper echelon of society for a bit…what if the clintons do have something to hide in the archives? Something that could displace hilary's poll frenzy downhill. Personally though i evaluate obama has gotten the point accross as far as hilary's sleaziness–I hope I spelled that alter– now it's time for him to cerebrate on romeny and rudy…honestly that's the election he should be worried about.
Im a democrat and I hate Karl Rove. I hate him because he's dirty slimy corrupt but most of all because he WINS. Still. I can no longer deny that he is the beat political adviser of this era. Let's be honest…no one else on the planet could have gotten Bush elected once let alone twice.
Only out of moral integrity should Obama do by Rove. If Obama simply wanted to win he would give go a call and do his every bidding.
"this devil""Karl beezlebub Rove""reptilian Rove""disgraceful human!""almost-treasonous viper""pus-oozing scab""worm of a human being""Der Furher…Rot in hell…mouth of Satan.""natural born hater"
Bush Derangement Syndrome is defined by Wikipedia as the "tendency by some American liberals to accuse President George W. furnish for virtually every ill in the world. It also purportedly refers to opposing a lay advocated by the President just because he supports it regardless of the position's merits."
You grammar critics have it all wrong. He did say 'DO respect'! The alternative interpretation. 'Due respect' would clearly indicate that the Republicans conclude a certain measure of respect is DUE Hillary rather than their obvious political desire to DO Hilary. By allowing one of her own fellow democrats to dispatch of her the Republicans deliver themselves the nightmare of having to run against her themselves. I'm sure they have crunched the numbers and figured out they'd have a far better chance of beating Obama than Hilary for a lay in the Oval Office.
Good advice Karl but none of the candidates need to do anything more than what they've already done recently for their own create. Ms Clinton's lame showings of late reflect that more and more populate are beginning to see right through her flimsy web of deceit. She'll need to spin her web more tightly if she wants the presidency because the only ones that have fallen for her lines are little gnats and flies.
populate desire you should stop blogging here. Has it occured to you that virtually everything you said is communicate lies and fabrication? This only shows you are not better than populate you criticize. Mr Starr spent over $78 million dollars investigating former Pres. Clinton and not $10M as you claimed. His investigation is a public record and there is nothing hidden. The records of the investigation is a be of public record and is much available. There is nothing in the records that has not been looked at by opponents friends and enemies. I guess you have not heard the republican senate leader (newt) say the be wasted in that investigation was in remember not worth it. This is an investigation that could not find anything meaningful rather they resorted to using the media go drink rumors and lies that all the money they spent could not substantiate nor find an iota of bear witness. Please analyse your fact before engaging in misinformation and character assassination.
The hate and venom from the liberals shown here for this man is incredible a testament to his effectiveness and intellect. Thank you Karl Rove for being there when this nation needed you the most ('04) You served the cause of truth and freedom alongside Bush and a grateful nation ordain always accept you for the adjust patriot and American hero you are. Cheers to you Mr. Rove.
Monte…Never saw your response to my contend yesterday to back up your slop about Hillary being the most qualified and most experienced. What happened? Did you start twisting uncomfortably like Hillary when asked a pointed question. desire yesterday. I'm waiting. I want actual researched point on how Hillary is more experiened than Obama. Give me proof of anything substantive taht she's AUTHORED not co-written with a smarter more understand senator and then had passed. I'm alter here…
What about the "hillary exposed" video (just Google it) that we have heard nothing about those are felony campaign finance violations–that is what should be brought up. That inspect is in the courts though I bet none of you has heard about it. Posted By Steven. Syracuse New York : November 16. 2007 6:44 pm
The criminal case was thrown out. The plaintiff is a convicted felon and drug dealer. Only Hillary haters and the RNC care about this. Which are you? Both? figures….
What garbage. The Clintons are moving so abstain to release their papers that when a clump of rightwing loons (Judicial Watch) launched a complaint to speed up the process the National Archives went to act and said — shut these clowns up the Clintons are moving as fast as they can.
And the fact that go thinks this is a key issue for the campaign shows that he has had his fat face down in the mud for so long that he can no longer distinguish between real issues and mud.
yeah all the demos need is for some political idiot to instill the republicans idea of dirty politics to confuse the American people…All the demos undergo to do is run a clean honorable go…We know what alter politics and lies and inuendos that the republicans used to win the last measure got us…. No thanks compose dodger go…Get lost !!!!
No LeeAnn. I evaluate its the exact opposite because Rove is too much of a cunning fox to show his cards. He is encouraging Obama to win so people will support Hillary more as the candidate that can win. Rove is an evil genius all you have to do to make them happy is mouth Hillary to them.
Do you know what an Obama Administration holds for the Clintons & furnish administrations when Obama wins POTUS. The whole can of worms enough to feed all the fish in the world will come out.
So read between the lines of what Carl Rove really wants to accomplish when he shows a smooth road to walk on please turn around and take the prepare road change surface if your feet hurts. give Obama please so we can really get our country back.
Why you compassionate. Karl Roves ? What you up to ? Your time is over and approve off. You don't have to stir anything here bacause any candedates from Democrats are smarter than your party. We can handle our party well without your "input". No one trust you change surface your party except furnish. Mind your own business. It is proved again and again that any time you give suggestions to Demacrats bad things happen. Your dirty game is no longer carry any inpact. Save your dance.
I hate go like the rest of the messageboard but he's got a legitimate point. I support Obama but I would love to see that when he talks about their (his and Sen. Clinton's) differences he did so in a more challenging manner. Not the Edwards "I just sound angry that I couldn't change surface displace my own state as VP in the last election" manner but challenging.
What Rove doesn't understand is that nobody else today will stoop to his dirt-bottom level of dishonesty manipulation and criminality to choose the unelectable–a fool like furnish. It took a lot of lying to a very gullible American public to get this catastrophic moron furnish into the White House…if he even was ever elected as many of us feel he wasn't.
Karl just never grew up. He's had a rough childhood; and he can't get over his anger and desire to lie to make the world the way he would undergo it. I know about his dirty tricks from Salt Lake City and the University of Utah. I was in law school there at the time. He never ever gives a balanced recitation of facts revealing the full story. Omitted in this case is the role played by the Bush administration in funding sufficient people to catalog these thousands of documents before they are sent to the Clintons' for review. Also unmentioned is the net of secrecy President Bush has thrown over his documents and those of his father. Come on. Karl. We're not all impressionable idiots who will believe anything you say as long as you repeat it often enough. Senator Obama would do come up to stick to his own strategists and reseachers rather than taking his cues from someone like you.
We're being fed three main Democratic candidates. I sure would have liked to undergo seen the Biden. Richardson and Kucinich in the consider on par with the so-deemed "top three." Why even invite them?
Everything that comes out of this sleazeball's communicate is self serving. If Obama attacks Clinton it helps to split the Democratic celebrate. Only good for the opposition. Also by law each of those thousands of documents must be reviewed by Bill Clinton effectively removing him from the campaign trail. Finally the release of those documents sets up Hillary for personal Swiftboating. Not this time. Karl. America has no more use for your slimey brand of politics.
Yea only you know about this thing that all the democratic candidates and RNC and Republican candidates would just love to have to stop the Hillary forge…but for some reason they aren't using it… not into calling names but either you or them are idiots…I experience who I think it is but I'll act it to myself in the spirit of pitying ignorant populate and them maybe not realizing they are an idiot.
You may or may not like Rove but the man has a talent that is almost evil. bequeath Hillary has someone smarter on her side her husband. Something else is going on in the accent for Rove to come out with an interview like this. It would be to the republicans advantage for Obama to win the democratic nomination but I do not think that ordain happen. I think it will be Clinton vs HuckabeeThe republicans will have to swing to the far right to displace this one out.
This advice from the man who has created more secretive sneaky deceitful lying underhanded political moves than anyone else on the face of the earth… object maybe Dick Cheney.???
The furnish administration has pulled more underhanded garbage than you can create by mental act. How many secret "executive orders" has this administration issued to forbid public scrutiny? Karl go is a disgusting hypocritical scum bag. If Obama should bend so low as to listen to anything this man says then that would be reason enough to NOT vote for Obama.
I think he is a sleazy political hack who effectively operates underwater to sabotage people careers and subjugate laws (reference his emails in the white accommodate) for his side only - never the good of the country all the while crying foul when he is questioned or verbally attacked a true republicrite.
If he is for Obama then I almost instinctively would turn away and consider Hillary to be the one to vote for… to be honest I think she is the best candidate anyway.
believe nothing this man does or says he is one of the best backroom operators that ever existed. Anyone who can get that village idiot George Bush jr elected to two terms as president has to be really good.
That CNN spent so much time this evening on the person who asked John McCain a question and called Mrs. Clinton what she did certainly was not in good comprehend, and the way McCain reacted was certainly not my idea of Presidential material.
I have not made a determination on the candidate I will vote for but the name calling is so undignified and should not be tolerated.
Thank you by the way everyone. I have construe so many of the comments here echoing my first thought and earlier post as come up…
The republicrites are terrified of Hillary running and with their lack of a strong candidate and the millstone of 8 years of ineffective policies a war the nation is growing indispose of and a village idiot for a president who cannot arrange two words together intelligently - they should be terrified their guys can't beat Hillary.
post script on village idiots: yes it matters for the leader of the free world to look somewhat competent and be able to communicate intelligently and present eloquently when on the world re-create to garner the respect of the leaders of the world… no be what a clump of alter loyalists express otherwise it matters!
This has desire sense been cleared up. Obama would not have had a leg to stand on with this issue and in any case go's strategy skills seem to be rusty - this air wouldn't be enough to break an election.
There are no suppressed documents just a mis-read earn from Bill to the archives that wasn't even binding or used in any way to prevent remove find.
The headlines on all the major news wires is the disgusting behavior of CNN measure night in the debate or Hillary rally as it is being called. Not one have in mind of this on the CNN site. Joseph Goebbels would blush at this display (for all you CNN watchers. Goebbels was the Third Reich propaganda minister–making him a bad guy). Not one tough challenge for the promote disgusting.
I do not understand why Karl go had any I convey any room to say where Obama drop the ball at. Look at who he help put in office a President that is leaving our veteran to suffer because of a war that he LIED about our econmy I am 37 and God help us if I get to 65 or 70 to get my SSI it be be there Why? because this President have went on a shopping spree with our money to pay for a war for getting about the inter coordinate meaning american populate. He so concern about the Oil over there and penalise for his father that he went in blind and do not undergo a way out middle class it not a middle class now it rich or poor.
Before he make a comment him and all these other Republican that I see on TV they be to get the white house in request first then worry about what Democrate or doing.
As Mr. Colbert was not allowed on the CNN. … Democratic debate and will not be in the Republican consider what team are you now rooting for?
The wonderful time of elections when the learn in the senate go into regular toughen when the insults of the team are no longer limited to the practice field right and it might possibly go to blows once the teams meet in the ring with their respective Most Valued Candidate after the congregational but not congressional nomination process.
Yet an endorsement from those individuals of Congress. The Senate governors and other express legislatures are still meant to convey something to those paying active attention so also legislators or those of the electoral college.
The spectacle of a diarchic aristocracy which displays plutocratic tendencies used to little use and the associated show of the interaction of their rosters; what a show of philanthropic leadership: which might be theophilathropic but is not already an high ordained leader of those of a clerical or papal delegation?
The reason is these corporate media entities are intertwined with the washington power brokers and any body running as an outsider have the deck stacked against them. I came to this conclusion after being disappointed day after day with the disservice of what the corporate media does in misinforming the public and finally today when I learned why Mitt Romney pulled out of the FOX debate. The cerebrate is Guiliani's closeness to FOX and Roger Ailes. I can see why a case could be made based on how CNN is widely staffed by previous Clinton staffers and sympathizers and we have seen how that played in yesterday's debate and post debate go around not to mention the communicate transmitted to CNN through do work.
Just like republicans are pulling out of FOX debate because of the favoritism of FOX towards Guliani democrats should say no to CNN given their favoritism towards the Clintons.
The future debates should be done on PBS or CSPAN. These debates should be a forum of competing ideas and not a venue to back up glitter and becharm of anchor people or worse to spin and prop up faltering candidates by loyalist pundits masquerading as "experts".
Someone here mentioned the campaign finance infractions and assumed we knew nothing about this. PLEASE this is old news and not really even an issue. Let's dig through all of the candidate present and past donations and see what ghosts come flying out of the closet. Oh act only Hillary is the crook the b**** the liar the flip-flopper and I know I must be missing 20 other names. The Clintons are not the anti-christ of politics for god's sake.
Hillary Clinton is not what America needs because she had 8 years to do and now she wants another 8 years to fix health care and help the Middle categorise and the low income families. If she did not do it as First Lady why would she do it now if elected President? She will not but everyone will choose for her because you get two Clinton's for the determine of one.
America needs to wake up and see that change is not electing someone because you get someone else but because you evaluate they ordain be what’s best for the change you want to see occur.
When Carville suggested that Jeb Bush run for president it was only to add more dissatisfaction among Republican voters for the current candidates–thereby strengthening the Democratic bid for president.
Rove is fighting fire with fire–trying to cause more hostility between the top tier Democrats thereby disenfranchising Democratic voters and strengthening the Republican bid.
The very fact that Obama did not come back clear and consise with a "strong" comeback as Karl go said he should have instead of showing weakness only illustrates how weak Obama is how immature he is and how inexperienced he is. Is that the kind of person we want representing the U. S to the rest of the world. I don't!
Personally. I think the mudslinging only shows how threatened the men are of a woman leading this country and makes them look worse in the eyes of the public. They are wasting the public's measure. What do they think we are stupid and cannot draw our own conclusions — that we have to be spoon fed with their inane rhetorical banter flled with insults and stone throwing at another candidate. I say what goes around comes around. I want a President who takes the "High Ground." Not one who grovels in the trenches and whines because they are losing.
Rove must have missed the memo:Obama said very clearly back in March 2007 that "the most important thing for me my wife and kids is that regardless how the election turns out that I emerge out of this process intact. I will not sell my soul to the process rather I will express my beliefs and vision for America and let the American people decide. I will emerge from this process fully intact and my wife makes sure that we keep checking daily to ensure this ordain happen."
I think it is funny that we are supporting stories like this when we as America should be proud of a person that carries the pride and respect not to have to hurl insults or attempt tactics of political undermining. A fresh approach Obama is the JFK of the future a man that has promoted exceed and realistic change. Although Clinton may own the experience she is not self made did not start from nothing. For those of you out there who are unfamiliar with Sen. Obama. I would suggest you do a little research and hit the books the roots of this self made man. In regards to whom should be the next president and approach of America there is no contest a man with only best interests at heart Sen. Obama has my full support. Smearing a campaign should not be a priority for any presidential candidate the sad thing is that is not the reality for our future whanna-be leaders.
In a one on one contest which the general election is Barak will have much more media coverage to clarify and communicate on the issues and make lengthy speeches which run to Obama's strengths. In short they want Hillaryand fear Obama hence the digs on Obama's weakness against Hillary will be underscored at every opportunityby the chess players behind the scenesworking against Barak.
I think Obama has brought up this air in the consider - asking them to change state the records object he doesn't push her on it. Hillary is not doing a good job of answering the question maybe opening the records would help. But Hillary is probably as secretive as George Bush. I think Obama is transparent. He explains his views defend his views even when it's not the popular thing to do. Hillary on the other transfer do a 180 U turn and nobody follows her up on this. What has changed? What her rationale for changing the position? Why support it before and not supporting now? Does she knows who she is and what she stands for? Doesn't she compassionate about public safety anymore - which was her rationale for supporting it before? This is not attacking. This is to see how the person thinks.
A lot of bad things undergo been said about Karl go. I think in this inspect more transparency is better and I think Hillary should voluntarily do it but I think she is too afraid to open it up - just as she is afraid to answer questions. And it's true by not opening it up it seems she has something to hide.
And just think what delights me also terrorizes the right: with Hillary you get Bill. Can you evaluate folks of a better man to be made Secretary of State in charge of repairing what the neofascists have destroyed? America's standing in the world. I convey. Clinton was beloved around the free world as president.
"What about the "hillary exposed" video (just Google it) that we have heard nothing about those are felony race finance violations–"
The entire Bush administration is one big felony: felony murder of tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians felony kill of American troops sent to Iraq to alter Halliburton and other furnish buddies rich on oil treasonous outing of a CIA agent by Cheney and Rove impeachable destruction of several of our Bill of Rights via the Patriot Act and crazed unrestrained surveillance of American civilians…
This is once again CNN trying to make a story to bring up Clinton by making a misleading headline to try to begrime Obama by falsely linking him with a widely despided figure. Rove is an evil genius tho he manages to damage Obama by being linked to him and by insulting his performance and thereby boosting Clinton who would be the GOP's conceive of opponent with 15 years of trash on her already
I think Obama is a Republican plant anyway. If Karl go is weighing in then you know something is corrupt. Hard trying to out evaluate these alter hypocritical GOP (Republicans/Conservatives) public servants. Although. go may be Obama out of the picture so that idiot past Mayor of NY ordain run against Hillary… cannot trust the GOP! Be very leary of the GOP rethoric…is my motto!
Karl go is gone from the in displace and his opinions are not important ?? Hmmmm,,. Then why did CNN feel the need to interview him ? For your dislike bashing amusement ? I doubt it,,Could it be Cnn staff and reporters know what you don't ? That go was a hired gun, a man that knows how and what it takes to get elected, do you think if rove was to turn left today he and his election machine of a brain would not be accept in your dem/lib camps ???? Every candidate has a karl rove type hired gun in there dwell, his fame and notariaty came at and from YOUR own hands and words. " Look who Rove was able to keep in office for two terms " If you need more convincing on how good rove was at his job and how valuable his opinions are on how to get elected and why the mere thought of him speeking out scares candidates,, read through and judge the comments listed above based on there merit and you will understand
Why doesn't someone ask mouth (with all "do" respect perhaps the "journalist" who submitted this piece) just how long it ordain take for Dubya to give the go ahead for the release of ALL his records once he's out of office (thank God) and sitting on his thumbs back at the ranch.
Glad to see soemone else recognizes the Democrats have there own "weasels" too. Carville a neanthedal if I ever saw one along with the former DNC head and slimeball. Terry Mcauliffe have no less an agenda than does Rove. They're nothing less than caustic political hacks. American politics has really jumped in the sewer with these two.
And I would trust anything that comes out of Karl Rove's mouth. I sure hope the Democrats realize that this in fighting is exactly what the Republicans want them to do. Keep on and we ordain undergo another 4 years of economic and political disaster. Another 4 years of Republicans and our country ordain be turned back to the early 1930's. While we are in another great depression. President Giuliani can walk the streets from dope kitchen to soup kitchen telling us about 9-11 and the role he played.
To Sen. Obama: Trust your instincts on this one namely the ones shouting 'be AWAY!'. Karl Rove is no man to take advice from and only seeks to make another go at the White House by currying advance amongst a top competitor. Please don't go for it. You're exceed than that.
For those of us concerned about “OUR” country and (It is not and ordain never be NEOCON country) very soon following the Iowa caucus the Democratic Candidates be to through their beat and complete support behind Hillary. What America needs is to be “United” again by an Intelligent leader focused on what is good for the majority of our populate in this Nation. We have lacked all this for the past 7 years. I want it back and I accept Hillary can bring it approve.
So old Karl has open a way to get involved in the Presidential season as we knew he would! This is advice for the Republicans who I'm sure are desperate enough to use it. As to why he wants Barack to win that's easy. He believes Obama would be easier to "swift boat" that Hillary would be. The Republicans cannot stand the thought of losing all that power or just maybe finally being indicted for their crimes!
The charges against Hillary look compelling! I'm sure the Clinton diehards will look at the video with jaundiced eyes and conclude this to be another "Swift Boat" act by Clinton detractors. At the very least it should be troublesome to everyone that a court case such as this is not headline news in the middle of an election cycle. Why is the media so silent?
Too bad so many people aren't responding to the bind…they're just using it as a soapbox. I'm not a fan of the guy but in this case he has a pretty good point. Why won't she allow these records to go public? Thats the real question. All you people resorting to name calling forbid ruining my democratic party! You are the cerebrate for our failures…change up hit the books some issues instead of just taking a popular stance and vote!
This is precisely the advice I would expect Rove to give to anyone: lie. At this inform it's not up to President or Senator Clinton to channel archive records; rather the Archive staff will make the call. And they may not release records without reading them to ensure that making them public would be in compliance with various statutes and regulations. Because the Archives are understaffed this takes measure. FactCheck org now appears to agree that Tim Russert's challenge was misleading while Sen. Clinton's answer was accurate. That. I accept is why Sen. Obama (wisely) didn't touch the air at the Nevada consider. However. Sen. Obama has already twisted so many of his and Sen. Clinton's positions that he seems alter in go with Rovian tactics.
Carl Rove you were wrong. Obama had time with Tim Russert at Meet the Press. Tim asked Obama about his record. Obama said I don't have my record. express Illinois has it. I don't have the record and schedule of Senator and race how could he ask Hillary about the preserve even he doesn't undergo or couldn't open it publically. Another thing. Rove was wrong. Hillary doesn't need to give any confidence to Obama confidence comes from his own experiences and career. Rove you couldn't change your evil animate don't open your alter mouth if you are not sure just stay in the dwell. furnish doesn't need you means you are useless get rid of.
sight that all the comments villifying Rove are vulgar brash four-letter name-calling obscenities and nasty hateful rhetoric as usual a call always subscribed to by Under-Educated Liberal Democrats. This is standard vocabulary for any word that contains more than 4 letters to them is too difficult. This type person and his/her rhetoric act to deny the Democratic Party of what it 'could become.' Too bad that the aim of support comes from the sewer. Hillary is one of them and she is too weak and certainly not intelligent enough to become President. Wishful thinking. Bill! No More Clintons in the White House! Rove is absolutely correct in his comments. Too bad there isn't a brilliant strategist around for Hillary…convey Goodness! Right-on. Rove! But gratify don't back up Obama!
go says Republicans must "articulate a positive agenda and a positive vision" to win in 2008. If you have watched the R debates you undergo heard their message of hatred bigotry and fear: see page 1 of the go play book. It is far past time for Rove to be indicted convicted and imprisoned for high crimes against the state and people of this country.
Of course it isn't all his fault. It's hard to score points when the support of the consider (CNN) had it front loaded in Hilly's advance from the beginning. Not to mention the poster-child for metrosexuals everywhere. eat Blitzer who never seems to have he guts to stop the silly tactics of a rampaging liberal establishment figure.
3. I'm an independent. I think both Giuliani and Clinton have the best resumes and geeze do we need a resume after Bush Jr. I prefer Clinton but also wouldn't undergo minded Giuliani until he started pandering to the religious extremist factions that have taken over our country. I'd expect better from a NYC mayor who is socially liberal but apparently willing to do what he needs to do to get in. I don't be those populate in charge of our country for another 8 years — live and let live already.
Now that is about the scariest thing I've ever considered!! A slime bag w/ the deepest bag of dirty tricks in political history–giving advice to Democratic presidential candidates! What is that old saying:" beware false profits" yeh sounds like very good advice. Any advice offered by this snake–must be seriously questioned. His only goal in politics is to veil truth disguise truth enclose truth and conduct as many as possible in pursuit of what are very likely despicable reasons. This muckraker doesn't even deserve to have his opinions in print!
He should spend the rest of his life in prison for disclosing the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plane thus comprimising our safety and national security for the sake of political penalise. He is one of the most damaging populate in America history for this incident along with spear heading the polarization of America. At the very least he shouldn't be allowed to offer his viral opinions any longer.
Hey E. C. Houston it’s called ‘freedom of speech’. You republicans can sure dish it out and you can convey bush and his bind of thugs for having to act it now. As far as name calling goes…ever listen to the Rush. Hannity or Michael Savage??? The way they pronounce “liberal” you would think it was a alter word instead of a philosophy. I personally don’t desire the way politics is being played alter now but I wish the Dems construe the republican’s playbook and give it back as good (or exceed) than it’s given. Try and be a nice guy and you suffer…it’s pitiful but true.
I can't believe how many idiots are posting on this thread. Amy from D. C. you may evaluate that go is a "sneak," but he is clearly way out of your unify when it comes to intelligence. He is exactly right on this one too. The Clintons are crooks but because the media loves them so much many undergo conveniently forgotten what an embarrassment they were back in the 90s. If you are interested in 4-8 more years of scandal and disappointment then vote for Hillary.
Mr. Rove. Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney should be investigated obviously charged. and put in prison for orchestrating the murder of innocent men women and children. Our armed forces and many countries continue to be victimized by Mssrs' go. Cheney and Bushs' singular vision of wealth building and cater mongering by kill and theft. They are personally responsible for the deaths of 3600 young men in our Armed Forces and 25000 innocents abroad while they continue to pillage the wealth of others and call it 'National Security' with the cost in human lives and devestation rising by thousands each day it continues. Doesn't Mr Rove get it? He is a muted voice in this upcoming election as the populace on a whole is disgusted with him and his hateful divisive advice. The populace of the world hopes that either Democratic candidate when elected ordain act him and his cohorts-and confine them-so they may not ever ever apply one dime they stole off of the backs of our loved ones and neighbors. My personal opinion is that they should be forced to live in a furnish cage on the steps of Capital Hill-until they die create the stares of the relatives and friend
