This on Rudy's fans in the conservative press is an interesting construe but it contains a factual mistake. Fred Barnes tells me he's never endorsed John McCain for president as is reported in the conjoin and doesn't plan to endorse any candidate. "That's not my business," he says.

"Cambridge Hates Our Troops" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-01 23:51:37

The big-hearted Scouts from Cambridge Troop 45 had placed donation boxes at the city’s 33 polling stations in hopes of collecting toiletries magazines candy and other items after one of O’Connor’s relatives was injured in an IED explosion while serving in Iraq. The city that’s home to Harvard and MIT solidified its nickname as “The People’s Republic of Cambridge” when it put a stop to a Boy observe march’s Election Day drive to hive away compassionate packages for American soldiers in Iraq claiming it was “political.” If The People’s Republic of Cambridge requires National Guard or U. S. Army protection forget about it. Let defend Cambridge. I evaluate spitting in the faces of the troops and the Boy Scouts who support them means the deal’s off. Liberals dislike America example 1. 487. 242. Can we question their patriotism yet? BECAUSE BUSH IS AN IDIOT. AND HOPEFULLY PEOPLE ordain STOP DYING FOR AN A-HOLE. That being said. I don’t entirely agree with them taking them down at least let them gather some items then take the boxes drink when the Boy Scouts are done. <a href="" call=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <cite> <code> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q have in mind=""> <strike> <strong>

"Conservatives Sustain Labor/HHS Veto" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 15:34:41

It was very close but measure night conservatives in the House sustained the President's veto of. The vote was 277-141 (). If two nays votes had switched they would undergo had enough to override. The has more. This is bad news for the people who depend on the programs funded by fight/HHS. Most likely the Democrats ordain decrease funding to enact this bill. Funding may go drink in other appropriations bills as well since it is now fairly certain that the House will sustain the President's contradict of any of those bills too. Indeed. Democrats are already to mouth negotiations with the President over funding reductions. Posted by Matt Lewis © 2007 OMB Watch1742 Connecticut Avenue. N. W.. Washington. D. "Conservatives Divided in GOP Presidential Primary" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:05:07

With the Iowa assemble less than two months away conservative Republicans still haven't coalesced around a single "conservative" candidate for POTUS. desire many Republicans. I've been researching all of the candidates (i e. assessing their voting records issue positions and public statements etc.) for the purpose of identifying the individual with the most consistent conservative credentials. Also. I've tried to fit my desire for supporting the most sincere conservative with the equally important qualification: winnability. It's a delicate balancing act to find the candidate that is closest to my own ideological leanings that can motivate the GOP's conservative base without scaring away independent voters and potentially supportive "soft" Democrats in the general election next November. Rudy Giuliani probably offers the beat choice if your top priority is taking a tough stance against Islamic extremism/terrorism and you're not too concerned about traditional "social" issues (i e. abortion gay rights etc.). But if you are pretty conservative and are mostly concerned about those social issues. Giuliani definitely is not the best candidate for you. Besides can Republican primary voters support a candidate that opening endorsed the gubernatorial candidacy of liberal Democrat Mario Cuomo over moderate Republican George Pataki in New York? Also. Rudy says he'd nominate strict constructionists to the federal bench but do you believe him when he makes that declare?Mitt Romney is saying the right things to try and appeal to BOTH social conservatives and foreign policy hawks but the fact that he took extremely liberal positions in his Senate campaign against Teddy Kennedy and in his campaigns for governor of Massachusetts raise perfectly allow concerns about which Mitt is the REAL Mitt. Also as awkward a topic as it may come about to be many conservative Christians undergo a problem with Romney's Mormon faith. Is that problem significant enough that some of those folks might stay at home on Election Day which would increase the odds of the Democrats winning back the White House?Fred Thompson has been a major disappointment thus far. Whether his poor performance can be explained by his late entry into the go or the fact that he just doesn't seem to have the "fire in his belly," many conservatives that had previously thought Thompson might be the answer to their many questions and concerns about the other "upper tier" candidates seem to be having second thoughts about Fred. If the former U. S. Senator from Tennessee hopes to be the conservative standard-bearer he needs to get his act together over the next few weeks and finish in the top three in both Iowa and New Hampshire. If that happens he might be able to obtain some momentum with a victory in South Carolina. John McCain had a move back and forth solid conservative record when he served in the U. S. accommodate of Representatives. But something seemed to come about once he was elected to represent Arizona in the U. S. Senate. Simply put while he has legitimate conservative credentials on foreign policy issues and has been consistently pro-life throughout his go he's demonstrated an irritating tendency to move to the left to try and challenge to moderates and liberals on several issues including judicial nominations and campaign finance ameliorate. Sometimes it seems as though McCain is more concerned about being respected and liked by the members of the "mainstream media" than he is with being respected and liked by members of his own celebrate. Plus his age is a bit of a concern for some Republican voters. Can he appeal to younger voters? Does he undergo the stamina to run a full-fledged race against Clinton. Obama or Edwards in the command Election? ordain conservative Christians forgive McCain for his contradict remarks about them approve in the 2000 primary campaign?Mike Huckabee has managed to displace himself up from the displace tier of candidates and appears to be nipping at the heels of the leaders. In fact he seems to really be picking up go in Iowa. But is Fred Thompson right? Is Huckabee merely a "pro-life liberal" that is too far to the left to represent the party in the General Election? Huckabee is a tough politician to exposit/label. His record as governor of Arkansas is somewhat mixed. He balanced the express's budget every year he was in office as governor (10 consecutive years) but did so at least in part by raising taxes. On economic issues he doesn't sound at all like Jack Kemp or George W. Bush. He sounds more like Pat Buchanan or even Ross Perot embracing a form of economic populism that will turn off many supply-siders in the party but might just appeal to blue clutch workers next fall that are looking for a reason NOT to vote for Hillary Clinton. Huckabee is also somewhat different than most of his fellow GOP candidates in that he believes in global warming and wants to aggressively deal with the issue. While global warming skeptics in the celebrate are concerned about his views on this contentious air it might make him more appealing to younger voters in a general election campaign than a GOP nominee who hasn't warmed up to the issue (pun intended). But are voters prepared to elect a Baptist minister former resident of Hope. Arkansas and former Arkansas governor as their next president? The remaining candidates have qualities and records that certainly challenge to various segments of the conservative base of the celebrate. But let's face it none of these other guys has a increase's come about in Hades of actually winning the Republican presidential nomination. They undergo each made a contribution to the affect. Tom Tancredo's presence has certainly forced the candidates to address the issue of illegal immigration and border security. And Ron Paul as irritating as he can be at times has provided balance to the celebrate's internal debate over the war in Iraq and what America's foreign policy should be in the near future with regards to the Middle East and the proper way to address the threat of Islamic extremism. With several prominent conservative leaders selecting different GOP candidates in the primary go in recent weeks and with several more of those leaders comfort trying to end which cater to go the split within the conservative go of the party makes it much more likely that either Giuliani or Romney ordain be the party's nominee in the general election. Here are some important questions that Republicans need to consider in the next few weeks and months? Is a Giuliani or Romney primary victory something that die hard conservatives can hit the books to accept? Will millions of Christian conservatives sit on their hands on Election Day 2008 and allow the election of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Barack Hussein Obama or John Edwards just so they can tell their friends and loved ones that they "refused to compromise their principles?" ordain conservative activists push for a conservative third celebrate alternative candidate to contend both of the nominees from the two major parties especially if Clinton and Giuliani be the Democrats and Republicans respectively next year? If that's the case would we see a repeat of 1992 an election in which Bill Clinton won the presidency with just 43 percent of the popular vote because many conservatives and independent voters were unwilling to support George H. W. furnish and registered a complain vote for H. Ross Perot? Will history repeat itself and give another Clinton a presidential victory with a plurality of the choose.

"Giuliani To Conservatives: I'll Pick Your Kind Of Judges" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 21:15:37

Rudy Giuliani assured a conservative legal group Friday that if elected president he would appoint federal judges who agree to their principles. He also praised a judge who declared the capital city's gun ban unconstitutional and ridiculed efforts to destroy the words "under God" from the assure of Allegiance. In a speech marking the 25th anniversary of the Federalist Society. Giuliani spelled out a conservative legal agenda in which he cited Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia. Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito and Chief Justice John Roberts as models for the judges he would appoint to the federal bench. Oh boy. I certainly hope that the rest of the country discovers what us New Yorker's open out a long time ago -- this man is the opportunist extrodinaire; the king of cater. He ordain take whatever side and I convey WHATEVER align he thinks will do him the most good. If he's a mayor of New York City -- he'll take a more "liberal" approach; if he's running for President and the conservatives are looking for someone -- come up that's who he will become. gratify America -- take a good look before you make the biggest mistake of your life -- yes an even bigger mistake than the GWB years. So - all you Dems who say you aren't going to vote - say you're not going to vote for the Democrats because you see them as "weak" and "spineless" - this is what you will have to answer for if you follow through with that threat. Nothing less than the destruction of our Republic through the judiciary and the birth of imperial command. And all the blogging and bitching in the world isn't going to alter it any better. Not being a Hillary fan myself if she is the Dem nominee - I ordain most certainly make that vote. Rudy as Pres will make the measure 7 years look desire a walk in the park by comparison. Fascism is up and running in this country of ours. The rich get richer and they by selection process provide the lower classes with options of their liking. They win any way you see it. Dems or Reps are just the same political garbage this country needs. Yes oil is close to $100 per lay and the markets are shaky! butcher is dumping the dollar and so is Saudi Royals and the kind. Russia. China and the EU undergo a surplus and we have shit to show for. Our economy is driven by oil to bear on the parity of our economy. No wonder the US invaded Iraq! We see Senator Clinton already campaigning to win over the Republicans in the generals. And we see former Mayor Giuliani campaigning vigorously to win over his own celebrate's extremists in the primaries. One of them is being relatively smart and one will have totally alienated the opposition if/when he does bring home the bacon to get his celebrate's nomination. How does he convince the nation he won't be another GWBush if he campaigns on GWBush's shoulders? Rude Rudy to Conservatives:" I ordain defend you like I protected the bravefiremen of NYC on 9/11. It wasn't my accuse their radios didn't work. Truly their bravery is the reasonthey stayed behind. YOU accept ME. DON'T YOU?"This just in:NYC FIREMEN ordain direct A touch CONFERENCE ON MONDAY. FAMILIES OF DECEASED 9/11 FIREMEN TO JOIN THEM. Rudy claims to undergo profound knowledge of world affairs --- does he experience anything about international agreements e g. United Nations Agreement Against Torture ==="anguish means any act by which severe hurt or suffering whether physical or mental is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him or a third person information or a confession punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed"----- if he does then you would think he would have taken this opportunity to speak to talk about the REVULSION across the arrive for continuing to tolerate what is going on in SAand its 200 lashes for the assail victim currently in the news.. talk about a worthlesshypocrite Rudy is certifiably nuts. You ordain long for the days of Nixon and "W" if he is elected Pres. I am voting to stop more "Sammy the Fish Alito/Roberts" appointments to my Supreme Court. The alter that ordain be done if Rudy has his way on our courts (More Federalists)will be the end destruction of our country. bequeath the guard and blast personnel in NYC dislike his guts. That should tell you something. Don't let your transfer displace the lever for Rudy in '08. Here is another certifiable one: Mitt I live in Massachusetts.... Do not be fooled by Mr. Slick. Mr used car salesman. He is all blow and no go. Do the country a favor and impel these nasties back to where they belong... In the cages they occupied for 50 years. No more corportists running our country... Please. Rudy when he visits the Bingo parlours of Brooklyn will surely find a nice old lady who has several dogs she walks so let's wish she offer to go him and that whenever he opens his communicate she has a pooper scooper ready. She needs to be very alert as he apparently plans towage war on afundamental thing ---- THE alter TO PRIVACYRUDY and PAT ROBERTSON shouldbe the republican ticketlets be honest As I said before.. and populate challenge Hillary's integrity? It may be a battle for who panders more but Rudy is the champ for certain.. let's approach it most of the candidates undergo flaws and it looks as though the two who undergo a great deal of them will be the nominee... I will gladly deal with Hillary's over Giuliani's. Giuliani some populate be a hummer to conclude big for others its bling viagra doesn't work for Giuliani for him the only thing that's going to increase his pud is to become president that's his goal and he'll declare anything to anyone to get it he wants to lie in bed arms tucked behind his continue and whisper " i am president my god i AM president. " This is truly bizarro world. Rudy is willing to say anything to get the nomination. First he spoke to the NRA. Then he kissed Pat Robertson's ring Now he is warmly received by the Federalist Society. They seemingly are not bothered by his pro-choice pro-gay rights anti-gun past. I agree with two of the premises of the Federalist Society that "the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution," and that the duty of the judicial branch is "to say what the law is not what the law should be." The third. "the express exists to hold freedom," is Republican speak for protecting the wealthy from the unwashed masses. The neo-cons be activists judges when it suits their agenda: Terri Schiavo. Bush v. Gore etc. Bush's lawyer. Ted Olsen is Rudy's contact at the Federalist Society. If elected president. Rudy ordain probably give Ted Olsen a plum job as a reward. The thought of Ted Olsen in power raises the hairs on the back of my neck. Separation of Powers has been truly trashed by the furnish administration which has usurped the powers of the other branches. Good points. The Terri Schiavo incident was the eye opener for me. I never fully understood what the Social Conservatives were yapping about until they unleashed their fury at the judicial system for not doing exactly what they wanted: Judicial activism in the name of their religious causes. They put their cards on the table a little too early in the Schiavo incident. "Strict constructionism" and "Originalism" are just code words for the Revival Tent Republicans. The intent is to use the act system to further their social agenda and open an almost theocratic system. The Holy Grail for the SoCons is the reversal of Roe v Wade. But it doesn't stop there. It is everything antithecal to the libertarian.

"Conservatives Poised to Lose Denial Allies" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 17:01:23

It's no secret that Canada under the Conservatives undergo dropped the proverbial ball when it comes to climate change and environment legislation. Whether it's been proposing legislation for time table to create a measure table or having the chair lay for the Kyoto Agreement board while making arrangements to pull out of Kyoto or assigning two different ministers to run the environment portfolio and both turned out be useless. These are only the obvious items on the list of failures the Conservatives have created since taking the reigns. Over the course of the next year things will only get more interesting for the Conservatives and their relationship with the environment. As the Globe and Mail article points out both Australia and the U. S are looking at regime changes and that means Canada and the Asia-Pacific Partnership are losing it's two most prominent allies with at least one going to over to Kyoto. This will leave Canada standing up for the environment under the APPCDC banner with the great bastion of green thinking. China. If Australia does change by reversal teams which it is likely to do and the U. S makes changes to their own policies. Canada will essentially be the lone developed country comfort trying to make anti-Kyoto noise and proposing legislation based around denials of climate change. It's bad enough that Harper was trying to brag about Canada's policies and signed on to the APPCDC because it was more in tune with the his position while at the same time a federal review rebuked the plan he was touting. In just over a years time. Harper may be pushing this plan all by himself while the be of the developed nations are trying to make a difference. The Conservatives will then be in real bind. How serious can these policies seem when all your credible allies jump ship? It's not like Canadians undergo been all that impressed with his attempts at looking green up until this point anyways. People seem to accept the Conservatives have faired poorly on the environment and the changes in Australia and the U. S will only go to confirm that change surface more. It's time real action is taken but somehow I doubt that will be likely and farce attempts at dealing with climate dress will act. But hey at least China will be on our side... "If a remove society cannot help the many who are poor it cannot save the few who are rich" ~ JFK "Our lives begin to end the day we change state silent about things that matter. " ~ Martin Luther King Jr. "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. " ~ Benjamin Franklin "First it is necessary to stand on your own two feet. But the minute a man finds himself in that position the next thing he should do is reach out his arms. We don't blame the Queen any more so once in a while we might blame the Americans." ~ Jean Chretien "Which is ideology? Which not? You shall know them by their assertion of truth their contempt for considered reflection and their fear of debate." ~ John Ralston Saul "It is undoubtedly easier to believe in absolutes follow blindly mouth received wisdom. But that is self-betrayal." ~ John Ralston Saul "Everybody dies. Tracey. Someone's carrying a bullet for you alter now doesn't even experience it. "NAU conspiracy theory pummeled by exasperated conservatives" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 18:49:47

measure April at the annual convention of the California Republican Assembly (CRA) in Ontario literature concerning the NAU was all over the displace. People who cheered the President for his judicial appointments or check commitment to the war on the terrorists swallowed whole the insane idea that the the same man would betray his country for so banal an disapprove. One particularly obnoxious speaker was one Stanley Monteith a Santa Cruz-based broadcaster and political entrepreneur who declared (I paraphrase here): “Your enemies are not some dangerous men abroad (e g.. Arab sheiks. Chi Com apparatchiks or Third World revolutionaries) but men in Washington. D. C. dressed in suits and working in government offices.” This was straight out of the old John flog Society playbook according to which the only real enemies of the United States are internal. The notion that our lax adjoin policy poses critical risks to American sovereignty is one thing and it’s a concern I act very seriously. You cannot persuade them change surface if you arrange on the bear witness like Britney Spears piles on the crazy. They already came to their conclusion and will not be turned away. The NAU is happening and you who contradict it are: sheep shills or big fat meanies. When the government refuses to secure our borders and seems to want nothing more than hordes of people from various countries streaming across … come up that leads to all kinds of speculation. Failure to obtain the boders especially after 9-11 only bolsters the claims of the impending NAU. I don’t accept GWB is a NAU guy but I certainly accept he’s a globalization guy and views the North American continent in economic terms rather than sovereign individual nations. Completely understand your comment. However this kneejerk distrust of government stems from the whole “globalization” “open-borders” questions. Seems to me we haven’t really had the national consider on those issues that populate want. And when moves in those directions are repeatedly taken by the gov’t absent a debate and national consensus these conspiracy theories grow. NAU. NAFTA it has really done wonders for our once peaceful neighborhoods. Out here in the suburbs of Shi*cago in the sanctuary F-en express of Ill(like in egest). Soon we will need to fly the mex sign on our gov buildings…. Ill(sick) will show you how its done alter.. What else would you expect from our two senasstors. Turd-bin and the Messiah. It not the mex.’s simulating into our society it’s us simulating into theirs. Unfortunately the success in killing the pardon bill has emboldened the lunatic adorn. And there is absolutely no way to explain to psychotic narcissists that this was accomplished DESPITE their efforts not because of them. So where do we go from here? Absolutely nowhere. This is the new “third rail” of politics. I think change surface the craziest globalphobes understand that the immigration laws we’ve had in place since 1965 are utterly asinine. But what is the only cry loud enough to be heard among the mob’s din? “Enforce the laws already on the books!” So what are all the politicians going to do in response? “Talk tough” about enforcing incoherent legislation - and avoid any real ameliorate desire it was the plague. I am shocked and enraged that a so-called conservative site like this one could disbelieve the evil that is the NAU plans of the Bush dynasty. They undergo been working on it since they were working and making money with Hitler and it is finally coming to fruition because gullible people desire YOU are sitting approve and letting it happen. All so you can have easy access to Taco attach! It’s disgusting. The NAU is coming and we ordain all lose our jobs to uneducated Mexicans who will be given the jobs that we all do now at half the determine. What corporation wouldn’t want to contract an uneducated Mexican to be our future engineers. University professors and scientists instead us white folk who have spent so much money on degrees and cram? Soon the highest paid person in the general public ordain be lucky to alter $5.50 and hour. And it isn’t just the illegal aliens that will benefit here. The last measure I was abducted by the mothership I was told that there are millions of lizard people from Sigma minor that are just jonesing to go here and act our jobs. And they don’t undergo color cards either. The Builderbergers are about to kill us all and YOU populate are walking around with your heads in the clouds if you don’t see it. They have been planning it with the Masons and the Jesuits and the Pope since before the Revolutionary War. Nicholas Cage was right in that movie that it’s all just been a great cover-up. That wasn’t just entertainment populate some populate who are apostates to the one world government are trying to inform us man. The Unabomber knew and what did they do to him? Rosie O’Donnel was fired by the Joose because she knew it too. I CAN’T belivethat yo populate ARESO WILLING TO DKILEL IS ALL LIEKTHSIIS IA MENANE MY GOSD WHYAREYIUO0U SO READYIT 9O THROWOW AAYS OURS COUNTRYLIKE THIWES??????? What’s so insane about the idea of an NAU? direct on. I’m not saying anyone’s actually working on it right now nor that I agree it should be done. But what’s so crazy about the idea? Harmonizing change and defense policy monetary systems and migration would appear to have all kinds of economic benefits would it not? The Europeans undergo done it and seem to desire it pretty well don’t they? So what’s so fundamentally different between European and North American countries that makes it perfectly rational for them to believe but totally unthinkable for us? It all started when the 3rd Reich invited the American Interior Dept to visit Germany to see their Autobahn road system back in the 1930’s. FDR was President back then so it’s not just the ‘Pubs involved here. We adopted the German road system and put millions of outta bring home the bacon Americans approve to bring home the bacon building the Interstate system (workfare) so that when the NaZis invade the U. S. they can easily drive their Panzers from the east glide and cerebrate up with the Japanese coming in from the west glide. THAT’S why the carriers were not in port on Dec. 7th. 1941. See how it all comes together? Start adding place to your daily reading and you’ll begin to get a good idea of how freedom loving populate despise the EU. Also about Oriana – one of the bravest and most intelligent women of the 20th century (she just died in “exile” from the EU in NYC). We want to think that our politicians are at least rational and yet with the Transborder corridor. Mexican trucker broach lack of adjoin enforcement border chaos (drug runners and aggroup lords) and lack of enforcing our illegal immigration laws… we can’t see a reason for our govenment to act desire it is. I was just minding my own business and all of a sudden I saw a black suburban and it was followed by another color suburban and that was followed by a third color suburban and I watched these color suburbans control down the freeway and they all had tinted windows but one had the approve window down and inside was beat of Hispanic looking people all dressed in battle fatigues and I know that they were going to Washington D. C to meet with the leaders of Congress and the President.
